If you want it bright -- go with a paint that has blue in it -- seriously. Find the color card that looks a wee bit like the bottom of a swimming pool. It brightens like nobody's business and it always looks clean -- even in icky yellow incandescent light.

Yeah, but it's Blue....red is so, well, me. As for the icky lights I will be there for the demolition and rip the buggers out with my bare hands. Grrr...

Ooh, I like the sound of the red! I've always liked the idea of three walls in a slightly neutral color (maybe not "putty" though!)and one wall in a really vibrant shade.
