Hey I hope you all mustered a couple of bucks and donated to a food bank over the Thanksgiving holiday. Granted we should volunteer or donate something (money, clothes, time) throughout the year and I know it's tough. We all (at least those of us with a shred of humanity) mean well and want to and then time and budgets get in the way.
So honestly, I'm firing up the looms. Yes, looms. Last night I started some Christmas ornaments on my Voyager that may or may not become gift tags. Alas, they be tiny. Also remind me to change the order of the harnesses on my Voyager. This is really important when you're weaving and wonder why things just don't look like they should. Doh!
So tonight I need to fire up the warping board and get the Christmas gifts onto the Schacht. I'll be weaving back-to-front, this should be hilarious no doubt. I will take many pictures and post them once I'm done. Since I don't want to just say what I'm making I will tell you out there that it's page 30 in the Handwoven's Design Collection #18.
675 ends. Why did I choose this project again? 42 ends per inch. My teacher and weave-mates laughed heartily in class today -- even after I fed them pumpkin cheesecake. I said it was the summer sun and WEBS had an end of summer sale on linen. They still laughed. So now next month I need to have one for proof that I wasn't insane.
Which now leads to this question:
Which would you rather? A smaller repeat 65 times or a repeat five times greater but only repeated 13 times?
Either way it's 675 ends. There's not enough lipstick for this pig.
Ah, 675 is nothing on the psychotic scale. Try 1300 black ends ...
